Whatever happened to pop music?
" Hey i was thinking about that show last night [Whatever happened to the Gender benders?, Channel 4]... and ive come to the conclusion... well not a conclusion, just an new understanding of what cultural revolutions are about. They are true reactions arent they, they are born out of total despair with the social climate of the time. I think its an eye opener in terms of what'shappening today. Not a bloody thing! Just bands rehashing no wave new yorkers and electro duo's rehashing new romantics... its kinda made me really see through the bullshit we call post modernism. But then I think hey its working fine and those revolutions deserved more time to be explored and refined. It's simply easier this way. "

Images in the sky

Last sunday my friend Damien and I sent 200 images from the Internet into the sky via red, green and blue helium filled balloons. Be sure to check out the movie of the launch, which was accompanied by a live improvised soundtrack.
We've had no responses yet but just being able to see so many balloons float away from us in one go was worth all the effort.
What's impressed you recently?
I am curious.
Art, Music, Fashion, Life.
What's been a moment to remember recently?
I will make a start:
Music - The Shaggs, Conet Project
Art - Thomas Demand, St Paul's Cathedral
Life - Dinner with Marilyn Manson (sorry - had to mention this)
Fashion - Helmut Lang going out of business
General - My daughter Ava Ray
NOTE (a week on)
The lack of responses is starting to prove my point. We can endlessly discuss the Top10 of most dangerous coffee machine operators, yet thinking about what we've been impressed with seems to blank our brains. Don't worry, same here - I had to dig deep to find a response to my own question (apart from the obvious ones)... So is there too much that's too little to leave a lasting impression out there?
