What's impressed you recently?
I am curious.
Art, Music, Fashion, Life.
What's been a moment to remember recently?
I will make a start:
Music - The Shaggs, Conet Project
Art - Thomas Demand, St Paul's Cathedral
Life - Dinner with Marilyn Manson (sorry - had to mention this)
Fashion - Helmut Lang going out of business
General - My daughter Ava Ray
NOTE (a week on)
The lack of responses is starting to prove my point. We can endlessly discuss the Top10 of most dangerous coffee machine operators, yet thinking about what we've been impressed with seems to blank our brains. Don't worry, same here - I had to dig deep to find a response to my own question (apart from the obvious ones)... So is there too much that's too little to leave a lasting impression out there?

I see exactly what you mean about the difficulty in finding positive things to focus on, I did read an interesting article in the weekend before this last one's sunday times about Happiness, and how we're genetically coded to be miserable and how a doctor had done 40 years of research into Happiness and Positive Psychology, culminating in a new philosophy based on research, also a book and a website (http://www.reflectivehappiness.com) I signed-up and am doing my first task this week which involves everyday writing down three things that have made you happy and why, every night before you go to bed, the idea being that the next day when you wake up you will be seeking positive over negative.
Anyway I digress:

For whatever reason, I just saw this in my news reader today. So, I'll blame some kind of RSS snafu on my lack of response.
I'm impressed by:
(Life) The efficiency with which graphic design instructors completely and swiftly deflate any desire to pursue graphic design as a career, and the capacity of humans to give even when they are not directly affected (physically) by a disaster.
(Music) The CBC Radio 3 Podcast, The Projekt Podcast, The 3Hive Podcast.
(Art) Gary Baseman, a type specimen I recently did for Emigre's Lo-Res 28 typeface, too many photos on Flickr.com to mention, Holgas.
