Wouldn't you be bummed to discover that these jokers are toxic? I spent at least 10 minutes a day with my nose in a grape smiley, so I'd be in big trouble.

I met the guy, a fragrance chemist, who invented the technology of "microencapsulation" which is used in scratch-n-sniff and even in modern day perfumes. Fascinating technology and great guy.

I have two cucumber stickers left from my youth. They still smell.

Oh my gosh, yes! I especially remember dill pickle and pine (not in a good way) and root beer and grape (yum). I would have been frightened of "old shoe" or "skunk."

Very cool, and I can even smell them now (through memory, not my screen).

But have you ever wondered what the heck we were really inhaling? That couldn't have been healthy for us.

What did the rainbow smell like?

I had a book with different scratch'n'sniff smells throughout... eventually everything faded except the turpentine.

Are still made in Sweden on some christmases, by the regional post office, to put on the christmas cards.

Then they smell like gingerbread, orange or Clove

The original Scratch N Sniff stickers are back at www.creativeteaching.com
The original SnS sticker company has worked on new formulas that don't contain some of the chemicals of the old 3M process but still use natural and safe oils for scent
