José Gonzalez
I'm getting old. I guess...
Or I don't get out enough. Not sure.
I mean, where have I been to have missed José Gonzalez.
And why do I have to discover him through a SONY ad (as beautiful as it may be)...
Dude, I hoped I'd never see the day...
Anyway, just in case I am still one step ahead of you (doubt it), check him out - he's halfway between Kings of Convenience and Nick Drake, yet firmly himself and I would love to know what Boards of Canada would(?) do to his music.
For a start, get his album Veneer, and if you think it's all too beatless, get the Rocketboy Remix of Heartbeats.
His is site can be found here and you can listen to some tracks on his myspace site.
And if anyone knows where I can find his version of Massive's Teardrop, please let me know.

thanks for the tip !
you make it sound intriguing to say the least
& i will check him out asap
people should recommend stuff more often
not everything they're into
but the one thing that really hits them hardest ...
oh & if i find that cover i'll do something totally illegal like post a link here or something.
cheers.
Fantastic find (and it's all new to me). Too bad MySpace sucks.
he's also done a Kylie cover of some song called "Hand on my Heart" (from an ep).
i got it.
Let me see if I can put it up somewhere...
JB
José is a great artist! He's so damn skilled on the guitar. It's only him on the stage, on a chair, creating beautiful art. He has also made some collaboration with other artists here in sweden, besides The Knife (Heartbeats). One were a hit this summer, don't remember the title, but it wasen't as good as Josés soloalbum - my opinion.
check out his new project "junip" as well...
buy and listen at dotshop:

Dude, check out his concert where he does "love will tear us apart" -Joy divison.
Awsome!!
Anyway.. Heartbeat is not a Josè song, he is just borrowing it from his friends in The Knife
Saw him in Sydney last Thursday.. amazing show.. teardrop live was something special, also covered Bronski Beats 'Smalltown Boy'
Jose Gonzalez - Love Will Tear Us Apart
beautifully stripped down version of the song, enjoy

José is from my hometown in sweden named Gouthenburg, come here and listen to him. He often play at different clubs around here. But he's really a sissyboy. He plays with another guy called Jens Lekman sometimes, his sister is a good friend of mine and what she tells me, he's a sissy. (sorry for my english)

Such peculiar information...
Doesn't surprise me.
Don't really care either.
JB
I wouldn't listen to people who can't spell the name of their home town.
Try version of "Heartbeats" by The Knife (album Deep Cuts, release 2003). It is much better.
Hey guys, there's another English person about, :)
I'm a new on www.hi-res.net
looking forward to speaking to you guys soon
