Helmut Lang has left the building
Self-indulgent fashion post #1:
So, you are finally past 30 and start caring about fashion in a sort of ironic , yet "I-know-who-I-am" kinda way (a bit like knowing your Shiraz from your Merlot), figuring it's finally time to stop buying everything at H&M and Topman... and you find a designer you like and treat yourself to something special every once in a while, when you can afford it.
Well, it's a shame if that designer is Helmut Lang (like it is for me), because he's just sold his last 49% stake to Prada and duly left...
To do what? No idea, but I do admire the way he did it. I heard rumours he may go into interior design. Or just take the rest of his life off.
Anyway, now's the time to pick up the last pieces of his collection before Prada installs someone to make imitations of his stuff.
Make sure you grab a pair of his latest jeans, they are the best. Seriously. And if you are truly crazy, get a winter coat and a suit and a silver bag and a pair of handcuffs.
